108 welcomes unsolicited submissions of original and fresh fiction, non-fiction, photographs, illustrations, and cartoons. All submissions to 108 should relate to baseball and its historical and/or cultural connection to society and community. If you’re still not sure what 108 is all about, review the table of contents for our current and past issues.
All submissions, including letters to the editor, should include your name, phone number, address and e-mail account. We will never publish your contact information in 108 or on www.108mag.com without your express written permission. Because cover letters can get separated from the actual submission, be sure to include the contact information on the submission itself.
108 does not accept unsolicited submissions by fax.
Submission of any material to 108 for consideration does not constitute any promise by 108 to publish that material.
Payment terms for materials published in 108 vary, but will be determined contractually after selection by 108 and before the beginning of the editorial process. Compensation for articles typically ranges between $0.50 and $1.00 per word for written submissions, $50 and $500 per photograph or illustration, and between $100 and $500 per cartoon. Compensation for cover art is open to negotiation. 108 prefers feature articles and short fiction to be between 1,500 and 7,000 words. |

Non-fiction, short fiction and poetry submissions may be sent in either digital or hard-copy format. Prospective authors should not submit more than one story or non-fiction feature, three poems, three baseball memories, or one letter to the editor at one time. 108 prefers to receive no more than four unsolicited submissions per writer per year. Please do not submit any simultaneously submitted or previously-published material.

Unsolicited photography, illustrations, or cartoons may be submitted in either digital or hard-copy format. In addition, photographers, illustrators, and cartoonists may submit a query letter with 4-5 samples to be considered for future assignments based on to-be-published articles. 108 will notify the photographer or artist, if it is interested in either the submitted material or in a portfolio review.
